Pattaya: A 26-year-old woman fled her third-floor room in Pattaya in panic after finishing a shower and finding smoke filling the space, as firefighters put out a blaze they believe started from an electrical short circuit.
At 2:06 p.m. on October 2nd, 2026, the radio center of Pattaya’s land disaster-relief unit received a report of a fire at commercial building No. 384/19, Village 10, along Soi Krom Tee Din. Fire crews, rescue volunteers, Pattaya city officials, and a water tender were sent to the scene.
On the third floor, thick smoke was seen pouring from the windows and flames were burning on a bed. Firefighters attacked the fire with water and brought it under control within minutes. Almost everything inside the room was damaged. The tenant, Ms. Saipan, 26, was shaken but unhurt.
She told officers she had been showering on the second floor. When she went back into the room afterward, she found it filled with smoke, grabbed some clothes, ran downstairs, and called neighbors and emergency services for help.
Firefighters found burn marks at the foot of the bed, where a power socket and a battery charger had been left plugged in. They suspect a short circuit, but said investigators from the Chonburi Region 2 forensic unit will examine the scene to confirm the cause.
