CHONBURI: A shop near Wat Nong Prue was broken into overnight, with the thief making off with bottles of liquor, about 40 packs of cigarettes, and nearly 10,000 baht in cash, the owner said Tuesday.

A Pattaya News reporter received a complaint at 6 p.m. on September 22nd, 2026, and went to the scene. Shop owner Amnat Yasawut, 56, said he returned to the store around 11 p.m. on September 21st and found the interior ransacked. Goods and cash were missing.

Stolen liquor included one bottle of Grand, one 1-liter bottle and two smaller bottles of Hong Thong, one 1-liter bottle and two smaller bottles of Sangsom, and three smaller bottles plus one 1-liter bottle of Blend 285. About 40 packs of cigarettes and nearly 10,000 baht in cash were also taken.

Amnat later filed a report at Nong Prue Police Station and asked officers to examine evidence and track down the suspect.

He urged the thief not to target other shops. Shopkeepers work hard to earn what they have, he said, and stealing causes hardship for others. Anyone caught will face legal penalties.

Police have accepted the complaint and are reviewing evidence and leads.
