In Full:

Sri Racha district officials searched four kratom-drink shops and stalls in the Bo Win subdistrict on October 7th after residents reported unlicensed sales of kratom mixed with cough syrup, along with other controlled goods. Four people were arrested.

The Sri Racha district administration worked with Territorial Defense volunteers, local leaders and other officers. Four suspects were detained in Moo 3 and Moo 7.

At Bai Kratom Chumphon, officers arrested Kritidet, 41. They seized kratom drinks, cough syrup, anti-allergy medicine, brewing equipment and 32 bags of cannabis flower weighing about 416 grams. He said he owned the shop and admitted boiling kratom for sale.

At Bai Kratom Na Ban, officers detained Thanakon, 30, and seized bottled kratom drink, kratom leaves, cough syrup, anti-allergy medicine, a shop sign and brewing equipment. He said he had been boiling and selling the drink for about a month.

At DF Tom Mai, a shelter in front of Muang Thong Land village, officers arrested Kittiphit, 26. Seized items included kratom drinks, cough syrup, anti-allergy medicine, kratom leaves and five e-cigarettes. She said she was an employee who had watched the stall for about a month.

At the Jae Muay stall, in front of a second-hand goods shop in Moo 3, officers detained Sattawat, 31. They found 39 bottles of kratom drink, two bags of kratom leaves, 47 bottles of cough syrup and anti-allergy medicine, and four yaba pills. A preliminary urine test indicated narcotics. He said he had been hired to sell the drink and cough syrup, and that the pills were for his own use.

Investigators filed charges of producing or selling food containing kratom without permission, and of selling modern medicine without a license. Some suspects face further counts over unlicensed cannabis-flower sales, e-cigarette sales, and possession or use of narcotics. The four and the evidence were handed to investigators at Bo Win Police Station.

Kratom itself has been legal in Thailand since the Kratom Plant Act took effect in 2022, but selling it as a prepared drink requires Food and Drug Administration approval. Mixing boiled kratom with codeine or other cough syrup, the drink known as 4×100, remains a public-health target. E-cigarettes are banned outright, and cannabis flowers can be sold only by licensed premises. Banglamung has run the same kind of sweep: six shops and more than 500 bottles in June 2025, and a grocery-store front in February 2026.
