PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is preparing to establish a tourist assistance centre at Bali Hai Pier as part of efforts to improve visitor safety, convenience, and service standards at one of the city’s main transport hubs for marine tourism.
On October 26th, 2026, Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet and Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai joined a meeting to discuss plans for the proposed centre at the pier in South Pattaya.
Participants included Maka Phujinda, Chonburi Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer, Jarin Butwong, Director of the Marine Department’s Pattaya Regional Office, Poomphat Kamonnat, chairman of the mayor’s advisory team, and other relevant officials.
Under the proposal, Pattaya City will support the provision of space for the centre, with the Marine Department’s Pattaya Regional Office and the Chonburi Provincial Tourism and Sports Office working together to operate the service.
Bali Hai Pier is a key departure point for visitors travelling to Koh Larn and other marine tourism destinations. Officials said the proposed centre would help improve access to information and make assistance more readily available to tourists using the pier.
The initial location is expected to measure six metres wide and 10 metres long. The two agencies plan to share the space temporarily for approximately two to three months while arrangements are made for a designated service area near the parking facilities and public toilets, including improvements to make the location suitable for longer-term use.
Once operational, the centre is intended to provide travel information, recommendations on local attractions, practical assistance, and coordination during emergencies or when visitors encounter problems while travelling. Staff from both agencies are expected to work together to respond to requests and coordinate assistance.
Pattaya City said this is part of its commitment to inter-agency cooperation and making better use of public space to support tourism. The proposed centre is intended to strengthen visitor confidence, improve safety and service standards, and help ensure that Bali Hai Pier can accommodate the needs of Pattaya’s growing tourism sector.
