PATTAYA, Thailand: Pattaya City on Tuesday honored 37 individuals and organizations for their contributions to the public, presenting the “Outstanding Benefactors” awards for 2026 in a ceremony designed at promoting role models of good citizenship.

Mayor Poramese Ngamphichet presided over the event at 9 a.m. on September 8 in the Thap Phraya Room at Pattaya City Hall. Deputy Permanent Secretary Panrada Attohi attended along with city executives, council members, department heads, officials and representatives from various agencies.

The Social Welfare Office’s Community Development and Occupation Promotion Division organizes the annual program to recognize people who have sacrificed time and effort for the common good. Organizers say the awards are intended to set positive examples and encourage residents to contribute to society. A selection committee chose this year’s recipients on July 23.

The 37 honorees included 10 recipients of honorary plaques and 25 recipients of certificates of honor, plus two organizations. They were recognized in five categories:

– Social contributions (individuals): 23 recipients

– Social contributions (children and youth): 9 recipients

– Local wisdom and folk knowledge: 2 recipients

– Use of technology and media for social benefit: 1 recipient

– Promotion of morality, ethics, customs and traditions: 2 organizations

Mayor Ngamphichet said Pattaya has run the program for more than 13 years to showcase volunteerism and public-spirited work. He described the awards as a way to build strong community examples.

He urged the recipients to continue their service so that Pattaya’s communities remain resilient and so that young people and residents have models to follow.
