Pattaya City, along with Rotary International District 3340, will hold the “End Polio Now” event from October 23 to 25, 2026, along Pattaya Beach. The campaign is to raise public awareness and understanding of polio, mobilize funds for polio vaccines, assist underprivileged families, support education, and provide medical equipment for community health screenings, marking the project’s 35th anniversary.
Organizers presented the format and details of the activities during the meeting. The highlight is scheduled for October 24th, with an opening ceremony at 5:00 p.m. followed by the start of a 5-kilometer run on the sand at 5:30 p.m. Exhibition booths and related activities will also be set up so the public can take part and learn about polio prevention.
Participants also discussed coordination with relevant agencies, venue preparation, facilitation, and security arrangements to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and meets its objectives. All agencies expressed their willingness to support the activities.
Mr. Kritsana said Pattaya City places importance on health promotion and disease prevention, and that “End Polio Now” is one of the activities that can build public knowledge and awareness of the importance of preventing polio, which requires cooperation from all sectors.
“We want this event to be more than a campaign. We want it to build public understanding, especially of disease prevention and health care, so that together we can make Pattaya a healthier city,” the deputy mayor said.
