Pattaya, Thailand – Pattaya officials are considering plans to establish a tourist assistance centre at Bali Hai Pier, the major transport hub for visitors travelling between Pattaya and Koh Larn, as part of efforts to improve tourist safety and services.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting on October 16tg, 2026, in Meeting Room 131 at Pattaya City Hall. The meeting was led by Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet, accompanied by the mayor’s secretary, Bancha Kunlawanish, and assistant secretary Wachira Thongdeelert.

Representatives from the Chonburi Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports, led by Makha Phuchinda, also attended, alongside tourist police, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and other relevant agencies.

Tourism officials asked Pattaya City to consider providing space for the proposed centre at Bali Hai Pier. The goal is to strengthen cooperation between tourism and public safety agencies, particularly in an area that serves as a key departure point for trips to Koh Larn and other marine attractions.

Under the proposal, the centre would serve as a convenient point where tourists could obtain information about transportation and local attractions, as well as seek assistance or help coordinating with the relevant authorities if they encounter problems or emergencies during their visits.

Participating agencies will work together to determine how the centre should operate, with the goal of ensuring that visitors receive assistance quickly and efficiently.

Mayor Poramese said Pattaya places considerable importance on tourist safety and convenience, adding that a centre at the pier could make it easier for visitors to ask questions and obtain help when needed.

He also discussed operational challenges and requirements with Pattaya City staff working in the area, while examining which location would be most suitable for the facility. The city will coordinate with the Marine Department and other relevant agencies to identify an arrangement that makes effective use of the available space and supports efficient operations.

The proposed centre remains under discussion, with further coordination needed to determine the location and operating arrangements.

Bali Hai Pier is an important gateway for visitors travelling to Koh Larn, making it a strategic location for tourist information and assistance services.
