PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City has stepped up fire safety preparations in the Soi 6 (Yodsak) entertainment district, a popular tourist area frequented by both Thai and international visitors, through a two-day emergency response training program.

On October 28th, 2026, the city’s Public Health and Environment Office, working with its land-based disaster prevention division, conducted a tabletop exercise at the Thappraya Meeting Room at Pattaya City Hall. Pattaya City Council member Banlue Kulawanich attended as an observer.

The exercise brought together department heads and personnel from relevant agencies, including Pattaya City Police Station, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, medical and nursing teams from Pattaya City Hospital, Pattaya Civil Defence Volunteers and representatives of businesses operating in Soi 6.

This is to strengthen fire prevention and emergency response standards in the entertainment district, where large numbers of tourists visit local businesses. It focused on improving participants’ understanding of basic fire prevention and suppression, as well as preparing for orderly and effective evacuations.

Officials said coordinated preparation is intended to reduce the risk of fatalities and property damage, limit the impact of emergencies on surrounding communities, and strengthen confidence in Pattaya’s safety measures.

The training program runs from October 28 to 29, with two stages. The first day’s tabletop exercise was designed to review procedures, clarify responsibilities and improve coordination among the participating agencies.

A full-scale exercise was scheduled for October 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The program includes a demonstration of basic firefighting techniques at Runway Market, followed by a simulated fire incident and evacuation drill at 6th Sense, Building A1, in Soi 6 (Yodsak).

The exercises are intended to help emergency responders and local businesses work together more effectively should a real fire occur in the busy entertainment area.
