ที่มา: The Pattaya News

– Police arrested 39-year-old Songkiat, known online as “Jae” under a Pattaya Provincial Court warrant.

– They reportedly admitted using crystal methamphetamine and said they used the drug during a TikTok livestream after a viewer transferred them 1,000 baht.

– Police are conducting further questioning and considering additional charges related to computer crime legislation.

Pattaya, Thailand – A well-known Thai social media personality and spicy salad vendor has admitted to using crystal methamphetamine after being arrested in connection with a livestream in which they appeared to use the drug, according to police and statements he gave to reporters.

Songkiat, 39, known online as “Jae”, was arrested by investigators from Banglamung Police Station under a warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court. She was taken to Banglamung Police Station late on October 23rd, 2026, for further questioning.

Police said the warrant covers allegations of inducing, encouraging or persuading another person to use Category 1 or Category 2 narcotics through deception, threats or force, as well as illegally consuming a Category 1 narcotic, specifically methamphetamine.

The investigation followed a TikTok livestream recorded at a daily-rental hotel in Banglamung District, Chonburi, in which they appeared to demonstrate behaviour resembling drug use.

During an interview with reporters, she said she had regularly used crystal methamphetamine. She explained that the incident shown in the livestream began when a follower commented, asking whether he had taken drugs that day.

According to his account, she challenged the viewer to transfer 1,000 baht in exchange for demonstrating drug use on camera. She said the money was transferred immediately and that she went ahead with the act because she had already made the offer and did not want to go back on her word.

She acknowledged that her actions were wrong but said she had not lost control of his faculties at the time. She also described the incident as partly an act of frustration with her own life, arguing that positive aspects of his work, such as preparing good food and serving customers well, attracted less attention online than controversial behaviour.

She said she did not intend to apologise to his followers, stating that he considered the incident his own responsibility. She also said that although she admitted to drug use as a casual user, she retained her full cognizant abilities.

Investigators are continuing to question Songkiat and are considering whether additional charges under Thailand’s Computer Crime Act may apply. Police said she would be handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings.

The case has attracted attention because of Songkiat’s established online profile as a vendor selling spicy Thai salads in the Jomtien area.

Police have not yet announced the final outcome of the investigation or any additional charges. The allegations will proceed through the Thai legal system.
