NONG KHAI / PATTAYA area September 25th, 2026: Officials and trainees from the Nong Khai Provincial Center for Potential and Vocational Development of Persons with Disabilities visited the Camillian Foundation for Persons with Disabilities to learn practical life and vocational skills from people with disabilities who have lived the work themselves.

Miss Areeya Narinsilp, director of the Nong Khai center, led a group of 52 people to the foundation after the center launched its 2026 project to develop life and occupational skills as part of rehabilitation for persons with disabilities.

The center said the project was created because improving daily living skills and creating real work opportunities remain urgent needs. Training is built around first-hand experience: the Camillian Foundation provides knowledge and practical guidance that participants can apply in everyday life. The program also covers social manners and how to live and work with others outside institutional settings, with the goal of strengthening mental, emotional and social well-being.

Organizers said the goal is rehabilitation that lets people with disabilities live independently, work according to their abilities, and earn an income. The visit was also meant to build confidence, self-reliance and meaningful participation in society.

The Nong Khai center’s duties include vocational training under set courses, protection of rights and welfare, nursing care, and physical and psychosocial rehabilitation. It currently has 25 people with disabilities in vocational training and three employees working under Sections 33 and 35 of Thailand’s disability employment law. Trainees have a range of disabilities, most commonly intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities, and staff said many need continued support for mental, emotional and social recovery.
