For families new to us, MIS is an English National Curriculum international school in Pattaya, Thailand. Our community of more than 1,000 students from over 30 nationalities learns together on an 11.4-acre green campus, from the age of 2 right through to A-Levels. Academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do, but we have never believed that a great education stops at the classroom door.
That belief shows in our co-curricular programme. With more than 300 activities on offer, there is something for every student, whether they already know what they love or are still searching for it. Sports lovers can join Basketball, Badminton, Pickleball and our competitive teams. Budding engineers can build and experiment in the Engineering Club, while gamers can channel their creativity into the Minecraft Club. Mathematicians can take on the challenge of Olympic Maths, and future broadcasters can get hands-on with Sports Media. Music, Dance and Language Clubs complete a programme that spans sports, performing arts, languages, technology, leadership, academic enrichment and creative pursuits.
The real value goes well beyond having fun. Co-curricular activities build confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership and communication skills, qualities that serve students long after they leave school. They encourage children to step outside their comfort zones, try something unfamiliar and learn through hands-on experience rather than from a textbook. Just as importantly, they are where friendships form. Students from every corner of the world find common ground over a shared passion, whether that is a team, a club or a stage.
