PATTAYA, Thailand: A 34-year-old cannabis shop employee in South Pattaya has reported that a foreign man forced his way into the store early Sunday, made obscene gestures, groped her and later kissed a 64-year-old woman who tried to stop him, police said.
Police Lieutenant Supakit Kontee, a deputy investigator, said the complaint was lodged at 1 p.m. on September 6th, 2026, by a woman identified only as Ms. Way, an employee at a cannabis shop on Soi 15 off Walking Street. She said the incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. while she was checking stock at the cashier’s counter. CCTV footage and clips recorded by residents were submitted as evidence.
According to Ms. Way, a foreign man first stood pressed against the shop’s front glass and made sexually explicit gestures. He tried to open the door, then pounded on it until he got inside. He moved toward her as she backed away and asked what he wanted. He continued to move forward, she said, and tried to push past a barrier. She lured him outside, then ran back in and locked the door.
A 64-year-old woman and two or three other residents then arrived and tried to stop him and get him to leave. The situation worsened when the man kissed the older woman on the cheek. Residents then picked up sticks to drive him away.
Ms. Way said that when she stepped outside to record video, the man rushed toward her. As they passed each other, she alleged, he reached out and grabbed her genitals. Angry residents chased him until he fled.
She asked police to track the man down quickly, saying she feared he could target someone else. Investigators have not confirmed whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
The 64-year-old woman, identified as Aunt Nou, said she went to help chase the man from the area but was herself harassed and kissed on the cheek. She used a stick to defend herself and tried to push him away before the scuffle captured on video.
Police said they are investigating and seeking to identify the suspect.
