PHANAT NIKHOM, Chonburi: The president of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization on Tuesday handed over emergency survival bags to local officials in Phanat Nikhom district, where floodwaters have begun to recede but still cover low-lying areas.

At 1 p.m. on September 29th, 2026, Wittaya Khunpluem, president of the Chonburi PAO, joined members of the PAO council at Chalermphrakiat Hall of Phanat Nikhom Municipality. They presented 1,700 relief bags to representatives of the municipality and every tambon administrative organization in the district for distribution to households hit by flooding after days of continuous rain.

Another 4,000 bags are due to be prepared Wednesday. Khunpluem pledged to get the aid to as many affected residents as possible.

Officials said water levels have dropped in parts of Phanat Nikhom town, though standing water remains in lower-lying sections. Flooding also continues in Moo 3 and Moo 4 of Na Matum Subdistrict. Authorities expect the water to keep falling if there is no further heavy rain.
