Banglamung Mayor Rushes to Deliver Emergency Aid to Flood Hit Areas

BANGLAMUNG, CHONBURI: On the evening of the 26th of September 2026, Banglamung Subdistrict Municipality Mayor Narathip Fakruek, known locally as “Mayor Nueng,” inspected flood-prone areas and delivered emergency supplies after days of heavy rain across Chonburi and Banglamung in which some residents are calling the worst in thirty years.

Rain has fallen continuously since the evening of the 24th of September, affecting Banglamung and neighbouring Takhian Tia. The mayor and municipal teams took food and drinking water to residents near Wat Tha Kradan, particularly Moo 4, which officials identified as a high-risk point. Runoff from higher ground could flow into homes, and high tide may worsen conditions.

Staff and equipment have been placed on standby for rapid response. Authorities are watching forecasts that call for more rain over the next two to three days.

The municipality thanked Banglamung District Chief Anusak Phiriyamon and Chonburi MP Chaowalit Saeng-uthai for monitoring the situation and pressing local agencies to stay alert. It also acknowledged private and public donors that provided food, water, clothes, medical supplies, and other essentials, including Prima Hotel Pattaya, Prima Place Hotel, Patthamakun Hospital, the Banglamung District Public Health Office, Ban Khun Nai, VC Hotel Pattaya, Areca Lodge Pattaya, and other organisations.

In Takhian Tia, disaster-prevention teams and municipal executives continued field operations, placing sandbags, clearing fallen trees and branches damaged by rain and wind, and keeping crews ready for further assistance.

Residents in vulnerable areas are urged to follow weather updates closely. Anyone in distress or needing help should contact local agencies immediately.
