Jomtien: A 53-year-old man from Nakhon Phanom province was rushed to a local hospital after being attacked with a knife by an unknown attacker while sleeping inside a commercial building, where he is the property caretaker for the owner, in Soi Somsong Jomtien early on October 30th, 2026.
The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rescue center in Pattaya received the report at 5:36 a.m. of an assault with injuries at the commercial building in Soi Somsong Jomtien. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station and rescue volunteers responded immediately.
At the scene, rescuers found Mr. Wikhit Saengsupha, 53, with a serious head wound from a sharp object and blood covering his face, along with additional cut marks on his body. They provided initial first aid before transporting him urgently to a local hospital.
Mr. Wikhit told first responders that the commercial building belonged to an acquaintance who had allowed him to stay there and look after the property. He said he was asleep when an unidentified man entered and began slashing him repeatedly with a knife for reasons he did not know. The attacker then fled. Mr. Wikhit contacted the building owner and called for emergency help.
Mr. Narong Wongsoetchuen, 56, the owner, confirmed that the victim had telephoned him for assistance after being attacked while sleeping by a man using a knife. He said he went to help and expressed concern that the attacker might have been someone under the influence of drugs who had become violent, while stressing that Mr. Wikhit himself has no involvement with narcotics and that the victim was the caretaker who stayed at the property.
Pattaya City Police patrol officers examined the scene and recorded photographs as evidence. They have coordinated with the investigation team to review CCTV footage from the area in order to identify and pursue the suspect for legal proceedings. No further details on the attacker’s description or motive were available at the time of the initial report.
Knife-related incidents and concerns over unpredictable behavior have been reported in the Jomtien area in recent months. In April 2026, authorities arrested a man who had brandished a knife and allegedly assaulted visitors near Jomtien Beach Sois 2–4 after tips from residents.
