Plainclothes police acting on an informant’s tip found the man, identified only as Keng, at the Peekmai Resort in tambon Kham Bo on Saturday, Sakon Nakhon governor Ranida Lueangthitikul said on Tuesday.
When they searched the Honda Civic car he was driving, they found the speed pills in black packages inside three sacks on the back seat. Police also found a pistol and nine bullets.
The 42-year-old Roi Et native reportedly told police that another man named “Boss” in the neighbouring country had hired him for 50,000 baht to drive the car to deliver the drugs to other traffickers in Waritchaphum district.
