Thailand’s Immigration Bureau has launched THIM, a free mobile application designed to make routine immigration procedures faster and more convenient for foreign visitors and residents.
Launched nationwide in August 2026, the official Royal Thai Police app brings several arrival and identity-verification services together in one place. Travellers can currently use THIM to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), scan their passport details and verify their identity using facial recognition and, on supported devices, the passport’s electronic chip.
The app can also store a traveller’s profile for future visits, reducing the amount of information that must be entered again. Families and tour groups can submit details for up to ten travellers in a single session.
More immigration services are planned for the app’s next development phase. These are expected to include online 90-day reporting, visa-extension applications, electronic document submission, residence certificates and appointment bookings at immigration offices. However, travellers and residents should continue using the established procedures until the Immigration Bureau confirms that each new service is fully operational.
THIM is optional and does not replace Thailand’s immigration rules. Foreign travellers are still required to complete a TDAC before arrival unless they fall under an official exemption. Those who prefer not to use the app can continue submitting the arrival card through the official TDAC website.
The app is available through the Apple App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery. Because THIM handles passport and biometric information, users should download only the official version published by Thailand’s Immigration Bureau and avoid unofficial websites or applications.
