Siam Seaplane has signed a landmark agreement with the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM), designating NIEM as one of the key partners for the company’s dedicated medical evacuation (medevac) operations. The partnership adapts Siam Seaplane’s aircraft fleet to deliver aero medical transport connecting Thailand’s network of major airports and regional airfields throughout the country, extending this service to international flights and seaplane operations in 2027.
Under the agreement, Siam Seaplane will utilize specialized aircraft equipped for medical transport, bridging the gap between isolated provinces and top-tier medical facilities in NIEM’s medical hubs. By leveraging both major airports and smaller, secondary airstrips across the country, the service significantly reduces emergency transfer times for patients in remote areas where ground transport is too slow and large commercial flights are unavailable.
“Our partnership with Siam Seaplane represents another significant step forward in ensuring that high-quality, life-saving emergency medical services are accessible to everyone, regardless of where they are in Thailand,” said Dr. Pichet Nongchang, Secretary-General of the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM). “By combining our medical expertise with Siam Seaplane’s aircraft support, we can drastically reduce transit times for patients in remote areas and connect them directly to top-tier healthcare facilities. This partnership also allows us to expand the reach and availability of aircraft by further strengthening cooperation with the private sector and building greater emergency response capacity nationwide.
“Partnering with NIEM allows us to deploy our fleet where rapid access is needed most,” said Dr. Worakanya Siripidej, CEO of Siam Seaplane. “Connecting remote airfields directly to urban medical hubs transforms emergency care access for communities across rural Thailand.”
This initiative strengthens Thailand’s regional healthcare infrastructure and boosts safety for both locals and travelers. Operations will feature advanced medical equipment on board, supported by NIEM-certified medical crews trained for critical in-flight patient management.
Every second counts in a -medical emergency, and our versatile fleet is uniquely suited to reach regional and remote airfields that traditional carriers and ground ambulances cannot efficiently service,” said Dr. Worakanya Siripidej, CEO of Siam Seaplane. “Together with NIEM, we are establishing a vital nationwide lifeline today that will expand even further as we prepare to launch specialized seaplane medevac operations in 2027.”
Scheduled to launch in November 2026, the Siam Seaplane and NIEM aeromedical transport service will utilize the Cessna Grand Caravan C208B EX to transport Special Condition Passengers (SPCs) nationwide. The aircraft’s wide cargo door allows for safe, high-speed stretcher transfers, while its spacious, non-pressurized cabin provides a flexible interior layout to accommodate critical medical equipment and ensure greater freedom of movement for the medical team. Additionally, it allows for transport of victims of diving accidents who could not travel in pressurized aircraft. Following the initial airport-to-airport network rollout, Siam Seaplane will expand operations to include water landings in 2027.
