Another Prachuap Khiri Khan weather warning has been issued, with authorities calling for preparations for heavy to very heavy rain from Sunday, 18 October, to 25 October amid risks of flash floods and mudslides.
The Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Centre issued the urgent notice on Saturday, 17 October, directing agencies to monitor conditions closely and prepare to assist residents.
The notice follows instructions from the director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation for provincial authorities and relevant agencies to follow their emergency response plans.
Preparations for heavy rain
Agencies have been told to monitor weather conditions, water levels and runoff, and inspect locations vulnerable to flash floods, overflowing rivers and mudslides.
Personnel, rescue equipment and disaster relief resources must be ready for deployment around the clock. Authorities have also been instructed to prepare evacuation centres, food and essential supplies.
Local agencies are required to provide prompt, regular updates so residents receive warnings as conditions change.
People living in areas at risk are urged to follow official announcements closely and be prepared for possible flooding or landslides.
