Hua Hin Municipality is considering installing more wireless loudspeakers to help local news and announcements reach communities without the system and areas where residents have requested additional coverage.
The proposal was discussed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Mayor Atichat Chaisri at Hua Hin Municipal Office on Wednesday, 23 September.
The meeting followed visits to all 30 existing loudspeaker locations, where officials gathered residents’ views and adjusted the direction of the speakers to better meet local needs. Officials said most feedback after the adjustments was positive.
Community views on additional wireless loudspeakers
Community leaders expressed mixed views on expanding the system. Some said their communities wanted additional units, while others said they did not want more installed.
Officials will visit areas requesting extra loudspeakers to establish residents’ needs before proceeding. The surveys are intended to ensure any installations meet local demand while minimising adverse effects on people living nearby.
The meeting, held in the Nares Damri Room, also gave community representatives an opportunity to hear the findings from the earlier visits.
Those attending included Municipal Clerk Jirawat Phrammani, Kanokwan Sri-arun, director of the Strategy and Budget Division, and Rotsakorn Sapma, head of the Technical Services and Information Dissemination Section, alongside relevant officials and community leaders.
