Hua Hin Municipality is preparing to widen Hua Hin Soi 102 from two lanes to four and install new drainage along a 1.93-kilometre stretch. No construction start date has been announced.
Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul chaired a planning meeting on Tuesday, 6 October, at the municipal offices, attended by councillors, engineering and waterworks officials, and representatives from the Provincial Electricity Authority.
The proposed work would run from the front of the municipality’s machinery centre to Setthawit School.

The project includes 2,940 metres of reinforced concrete box culverts, rectangular drainage channels measuring 1.5 metres by 1.5 metres, along both sides of the road.
More than 28,000 square metres of road surface would be resurfaced with asphalt concrete. The existing two lanes, each 3.5 metres wide, would be replaced by four lanes, each 3 metres wide.
The municipality said the work aims to ease congestion, reduce standing water during heavy rain and improve the arrangement of utilities as the city grows.
Some sections may have no pavement
Officials agreed to prioritise four traffic lanes, meaning there may be insufficient space for pavements in some sections.
Municipal staff will arrange a site visit to notify residents who have placed items within the land needed for construction and ask them to clear the space.
The Provincial Electricity Authority has agreed to relocate 146 electricity poles in stages once the areas needed for their new positions are clear.
Officials also discussed excavation close to commercial buildings. In a separate post, the mayor said contractors would be instructed to take particular care near shops and shophouses.
The project remains at the preparation stage. The Engineering Bureau will complete detailed pavement and traffic plans, calculate construction quantities and prepare cost estimates.
The mayor warned that construction could temporarily disrupt travel through the area and asked residents for their cooperation.
