Hua Hin Municipality is seeking to speed up construction of the Hua Hin railway road by resolving design issues and relocating electricity poles, with the aim of opening the new route to residents as soon as possible.
Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul chaired a meeting on Wednesday, 7 October, to address obstacles affecting the road, which runs parallel to the railway from Soi 2 to Soi 101.
Officials found that the layout and dimensions of construction areas in sections one and two did not match the land covered by the lease agreement. The Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning is preparing to revise the designs to fit the area authorised for use.
In section three, electricity poles are obstructing the construction route. The Provincial Electricity Authority’s Hua Hin branch agreed to speed up their relocation so work can proceed according to plan.
Nopporn said the municipality had spent considerable time coordinating with the agencies involved and securing permission for the project. He called for close cooperation to resolve the obstacles and complete the road quickly, giving residents another travel option.
Construction contract runs until February 2028
The Hua Hin railway road project is being carried out under an agreement between the municipality and the State Railway of Thailand allowing the use of railway land.
The Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning commissioned Alangkot Watsaduphan Limited Partnership to undertake construction under a contract worth 174,722,000 baht. STS Engineering Consultant Co., Ltd. is supervising the work.
The construction period is 780 days, from 5 January 2026 to 23 February 2028.
The meeting included deputy mayors Atichat Chaisri and Sanraphop Ungrasmi, municipal councillors and officials, and representatives from the State Railway of Thailand, Hua Hin Hospital and the Provincial Electricity Authority.
The municipality said it would work with the agencies involved to monitor progress.
