Bikini Zumba event draws hundreds to Khao Takiab beach
Several hundred people gathered on Khao Takiab beach at Verso Hua Hin on Tuesday (29 September) for what was billed as Thailand’s first bikini Zumba event.
The Bikini Hua Hin Aerobic & Zumba event brought group exercise to the beachfront with a colourful theme. Event publicity described it as the first of its kind in both Hua Hin and Thailand.
The turnout comes as Zumba continues to grow in popularity in Hua Hin, with free sessions taking place at markets and shopping centres across the city.
Combining dance routines with aerobic exercise, Zumba offers a sociable way to get moving, with participants following an instructor to music. Local classes welcome people of all ages and fitness levels, giving newcomers the chance to join without needing previous experience.
The trend has also spread beyond Bangkok, with municipalities, shopping centres and local fitness groups introducing community classes and larger dance events.
In Hua Hin, regular free sessions now run on four evenings each week, offering residents and visitors several opportunities to take part.
Where to join Hua Hin’s free Zumba sessions
– Market Village: Every Monday, 6pm–7.30pm.
– Phae Mai Market: Every Thursday, 6pm–8pm.
– Bluport: Every Saturday and Sunday, 6pm–7.30pm, outside the front of the shopping centre. If it rains, the session moves indoors to the first floor of the Hua Hin Convention Centre.
All sessions are free, with people of all ages and fitness levels welcome.
