Hua Hin beach clean-up removes washed-up debris

ที่มา: Hua Hin Today

Hua Hin Municipality has deployed two teams to clear rubbish and marine debris from Hua Hin beach after monsoon winds and waves washed large quantities ashore.

Staff began the operation on Friday 9 October, using equipment and machinery to collect debris along the shoreline. Thanadet Phoonnoi, head of the Cleaning Unit within the municipality’s Public Health and Environment Division, led the work.

The municipality said seasonal weather conditions and changes in wind direction had caused rubbish and other materials to accumulate along the beach.

Two teams deployed along Hua Hin beach

One team started in front of Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, while the other began at the base of Khao Takiab.

The teams were assigned to work towards each other along the shoreline, removing debris to restore the beach’s appearance and make it cleaner and safer for residents and visitors.

Further rain forecast

The Thai Meteorological Department’s forecast for Monday 12 October includes thunderstorms and isolated heavy rain in Prachuap Khiri Khan. A separate warning covers unsettled weather in southern Thailand through Tuesday 13 October.

Those conditions could bring further debris ashore, potentially adding to the clean-up work.

The municipality has asked local businesses and hotels to report large accumulations of rubbish or locations requiring additional cleaning.

Reports can be made to the Cleaning Unit, Public Health and Environment Division, on 032 511 047, extension 405, during office hours.
