Heavy rain monitoring ordered for Phetchaburi and Prachuap

ที่มา: Hua Hin Todayอ่านแล้ว: 1

Authorities in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan have been ordered to closely monitor heavy rain and water conditions and prepare to assist residents if flooding or other disasters occur.

The government cited forecasts of rain-bearing systems moving westwards through Wednesday, 30 September, bringing heavy rain to many areas and potentially very heavy rain in some locations.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana said Napintorn Srisunpang, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, had instructed relevant agencies to provide regular updates so assistance could be coordinated promptly.

Napintorn chairs the subcommittee responsible for preventing and addressing floods and drought in the Mae Klong and Phetchaburi–Prachuap Khiri Khan river basin groups.

Daily reports to support heavy rain response

The Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR) has been tasked with submitting daily reports on the national water situation, including conditions in the two river basin groups. The information will help officials assess risks and decide what action is needed locally.

Provincial authorities must also provide daily updates and report any disaster urgently so that Napintorn can direct and coordinate assistance from relevant agencies.

The reporting instructions also cover Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram, alongside other provinces within the river basin areas.

The government said agencies must remain prepared and prioritise public safety, with the aim of reducing risks to lives and property and limiting disruption to residents’ daily activities.
