Plans for a 215-room AC Hotel by Marriott in Cha-am have been detailed in official Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) documents, confirming approval for the project on Soi Ruam Chit, off Chao Lai Road, close to Cha-am South 5 Road.
The development, registered as AC Hotel by Marriott Hua-Hin Cha-Am, is owned by Fountain Tree Co., Ltd. Its EIA received committee approval on 14 July 2026, with formal notification issued on 20 July.
According to the approved documents, the hotel will occupy a 16,516-square-metre site, equivalent to just over 10 rai. Plans include four accommodation buildings: a nine-storey block standing 38.7 metres high and three three-storey blocks. Separate buildings will house reception, a restaurant, conference facilities and a bar.
AC Hotels began in Spain in 1998, founded by hotelier Antonio Catalán. A partnership with Marriott led to the launch of AC Hotels by Marriott in 2011.
The brand focuses on contemporary European design, with uncluttered guest rooms and shared spaces for working and relaxing. Its food and drink offering draws on its European roots, including European-inspired breakfasts and Spanish-style sharing plates in its lounges.
A separate AC Hotel by Marriott is also planned for Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area. Project information published by its environmental consultant outlines a 236-room hotel being developed by Urban Seventeen Co., Ltd., comprising two eight-storey buildings with two basement levels.
No confirmed opening date has been identified for either property, nor has a construction start date been confirmed.
