Home victory give Pattani some respite

ที่มา: Bangkok Post

Pattani edged Rasisalai United 2-1 in the Thai League 1 at Tinsulanonda Stadium on Saturday night, moving into 13th place on seven points.

Carlos Neto gave the hosts an early lead in the third minute, and Felipe Nunes doubled the advantage in the 27th to send them 2-0 up at the break.

Rasisalai, who remain bottom with a single point, refused to surrender after the interval. Ramon Mesquita pulled one back in the 61st minute, but Pattani held on for the three points.

Harnnarong Chuhakunakorn, the Pattani coach, said: "We are very happy to take three points at home. We played our game well in the first half. In the second half the opposition scored and we worried about conceding a second. We could not control the game and used a lot of energy too early."

At the True BG Stadium, Bangkok United returned to form with a 2-0 victory over Uthai Thani.

Picha Autra scored in the 27th minute for the Angels. Uthai Thani thought they had levelled in the second half when William Weidersjoe found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review. Marc Cardona sealed the points in the 64th minute.

Buriram United, meanwhile, have appointed Raul Caneda Perez as head coach on Saturday, replacing Mario Silva.

The 57-year-old Spaniard was an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He became head coach of Al Ittihad in 2012, guiding them to the AFC Champions League semi-finals, before moving to Al Nassr in 2014.

Caneda later coached Zhejiang FC in the Chinese Super League in 2025.

Buriram have also signed Iran international Reza Asadi, 30, who joins for the 2026-27 season.
